I'm moving into my Winter fragrance now. As it gets colder I always seem to want to darken my lipstick with red and berry tones and wear a stronger perfume. The lighter, flowery, girly fragrances don't cut it anymore; I want to be darker, more intense and womanly (or maybe that's just my mood today!) Anyway this is the one I always return to... For Her by Narcisco Rodriguez. It's full of Egyptian musk, vanilla, amber, orange blossom and vetiver and it's really unusual. I hate, hate, hate the notion of smelling like everyone else and I'm pretty set in my perfume ways; I frequently try new smells but always come back to my old faithfuls.
What about you? Any winter perfume preferences?
I only wear two perfumes, Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin and Miss Dior, but I had a bottle of For Her some years ago and it is beautiful. I am almost tempted by it again. I like perfumes that have a slightly masculine tone to them (perhaps I mean a scent with depth rather than a light floral) and I think this one does.
ReplyDeleteI think the FCUK perfume that they have out in sets at Christmas is very similar to the Narcisco Rodriguez fragrance. Its a really unusual perfume.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Jo Malone, I love her Vetiver...but apparently it's the one all the gay men buy! So I agree with you on the masculine note...gay or straight!
ReplyDeleteKiehls do a great Musk perfume. I love it and get lots of positive feedback when I wear it. You can get it inSelfridges over here and anywhere that stocks Kiehls products.
