Beautiful Bows

These gorgeous pieces are by Eilis Boyle, the Irish designer whom I hold in very high regard. I love the quality of her work and her fashion aesthetic is almost of another age, something that is disappearing in these mass market, high street times. She holds her standards high and her work tells the story of her love for what she does. I love the attention to detail in all her work and that is why I'll be buying some of these beauties for Christmas presents (don't look Mum!)

This embroidered sash is just so lovely, I can imagine wearing it in so many ways... with a slinky LBD, with black cropped wool trousers and a loose silk t-shirt for chic evening cool, with a full length organza skirt and close fitting top for a formal night time event.

And look how lovely it is in ivory; brides take note, could be a lovely feature to add to your look.

Arm-warmers! What a great idea...
I love these. No, in fact, I need these.

These pieces are featured in Eilis's online store called The Silent Gallery for another three days.

A Beautiful Boutique

This is a little treasure trove in the heart of Dublin. It is the gorgeous Bow Boutique in the Powerscourt centre and it houses the talents of four of Ireland's most interesting designers; Eilis Boyle, Matthew Doody, Margaret O'Rourke and Wendy Crawford. Between them they design stunning jewellery, dresses and knitwear as well as stocking other lovely bits and bobs from other designers.

The store itself is a breath of fresh air in Irish retail. It's dreamy and conceptual...you can feel the creativity when you walk through the doors. It's the kind of special place that has been born of the pure love of what they do and the sheer hope in their shared vision.

I love the interior features with gorgeous lavender plants, an olive tree and feature frames with quirky inserts. The window display is always great and draws me in every time! I could happily spend a long time there just soaking it up.

The beauty is in the detail...

Love these frames, especially the old penguin book cover!

Bow Boutique is a subtle delight in a world of massive, shiny, loud, high street chains, I hope their concept continues as respite for the weary shopper looking for some real retail therapy.

Layers of Tulle

I've fallen for this romantic wedding dress by the wonderful Irish designer Eilis Boyle. I love the layers of tulle and flower corsage details. So, so pretty and refreshingly different...

Her lovely designs are available from the equally fabulous Bow Boutique in the the Powerscourt Townhouse which is a treasure trove of beautiful things...
