I've just been having a peek at Elle Decor, it's one of my favourite wastes of time!

I love the style of the homes they feature. The kitchen above is more minimal than my usual taste but I like the details; the brushed steel cabinets, huge flower display and artwork on the counters are fabulous.

Great table and oversized vase display (hmm, a theme today methinks!)

Nice display for a lot of crockery...these people must entertain a lot!

I really like the idea of using an old table as a prep surface, perfect for storing nice looking pots and casserole dishes beneath...

Todays Dream House

Today I am living here in my imagination! I think the Yoshitomo Nara prints on the wall are great, I love a mix of prints and actual artwork on walls. The more mix and match the better I feel...

How great is this kitchen... I know it's all very white but there's so much room! Imagine the parties that could be had here with the room full of music, food and friends (and lot's of wine of course)

The Only Way Is Up

I love stairways. I don't think I could live in a bungalow; I like the idea of retreating upstairs away from the inevitable hullabaloo of life downstairs! They also provide a backdrop for interesting design details and your own personal gallery space. Where else can you hang the old family pics or artwork that doesn't quite work in the living room?

I love the feature wallpaper above, the pale wood and the great contemporary banisters...

Is this the Stairway to Heaven?

I adore this stripy carpet and red wall hanging on the landing...I want this house.

Most people put dark tones on the bottom, but I like the reverse. This chocolate tone is gorgeous...warm and welcoming.

Todays Dream Home

This Swedish summer house is ringing my bell today...

So fresh and full of wonderful light. I love the low hanging light over the table and the chairs and the flooring...everything really!

Great use of feature wallpaper against the pure white...

I Dream of Decor

I love the idea of reading chairs and the blue and sandy colour palette is fab...

I like this idea of a mix of old and current family pics on a window sill...

Lovely distressed leather armchairs...

Mis-matched chairs are cool for a kitchen table, I also love the light shade and the pictures on the wall...

Another reading chair! The pop of turquoise in the painting and followed through into the bookcase is lover-ly...

Bathroom Envy

How gorgeous! In my imagination I would have a bathroom like this where I could hang a fabulous dress as a design feature and soak in the old bath drinking martinis and listening to the radio!

Or this would also suffice...

Or even this! The reality is somewhat different, as my actual bathroom is crammed full of beauty products and baby bath toys... although there's not really too much wrong with that I suppose!

We Love Kitchens

Back in November 09, my guy was unfortunately made redundant from his job and after a bit of soul-searching he is now changing his life (and ours) and re-training to be a chef at the Ballymaloe Cookery School (he is documenting his odyssey here). So, ever since we are all about the kitchen space, he likes the gadgets and the cookers and I like the decor and want to fill it with books and flowers and mismatched retro chairs!

I love the yellow cupboards and great tiles above...

The sign says it all and the copper pots feature highly on Ivan's wishlist!

Excellent chairs! Enough said.
