Berry Nice

I love berry lips and wear a version of them for most of the winter. The trick to having them look contemporary and not making your lips look harsh and small is to keep them moist. Don't draw them in with liner as that looks dated (remember Black Cherry by Rimmel that everyone used to wear!). Apply the colour to your lips directly from the bullet and rub your lips together to distribute the colour all over. It'a good thing if it looks a little messy...precision isn't the goal here. If you are scared of it going too dark; just apply colour to the top lip and press together. Next of all I always apply some balm such as Carmex to keep the look moist and soft but not glossy..that would be over kill. The result should look as though you've been kissed or you've eaten a bowl of blackberries...or both!

Good shades are Capricious by MAC, Piaf by Stila and number 21 (I think) by Armani. There are great shades in the cheaper lines too, so go and play...
Keep your eye makeup minimal with just mascara and groomed brows to ensure you look fresh.

This is such a great idea. Their lips in the pics look great. I have a gorgeous Sisley lipstick that I bought because I loved the berry colour in the bullet but it was just to harsh on my lips - will try it like this. Thanks!
