Yes, small bags are on trend but big bags just work. This gorgeous one from Zara would serve me so well. It could probably contain several nappies, baby wipes, a few lipsticks and random bottles of foundations, my wallet, my phone, my diary, some tissues, old receipts, a pair of Lu's tights and some mini boxes of raisins and and still look good! (yes, you guessed it; that list is what my current bag contains!)
